Not so kid-friendly party

Despite the less than stellar weather yesterday, we headed to Anneberg Park here in Manhattan for the kids' birthday party with their friends. Since their birthdays are only 4 days apart and we're currently living in a small duplex, I decided the best way to have birthday parties for our kids was to have one large party with all their friends from each of their schools and from around town. We had a decent turnout- I'm not surprised that some avoided being outside, with the wind and threat of thunderstorms.

Here I am with my beautiful daughter- who will be turning 6 in just 2 days! Where has the time gone?
My friend Dana's kids- Azaria and Zaden... having fun on the playground.
Landon's friends from preschool- Maple, Tim and Joseph
Makena's friends from school- Joey and Dillon
We got about an hour of the party in before the sky broke loose and gave us huge gusts of wind, heavy rain and some hail.... scaring the kids half to death, and sending us all dashing to the cars with as much kids/stuff as we could carry. We all got thoroughly soaked and most of the extra food was ruined. But I can guarantee the kids won't soon forget this party! :)

Here's my mom- soaked to the bone, with a cold little Makena.
