Color Run KC

Last weekend, I participated in the Color Run KC, a 5K race. On the way to KC on Saturday, we stopped at a little restaurant (featured on the show, "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" on Food Network) called Grinders. It was definitely a dive! Good food, unique atmosphere, and lots going on to keep us entertained. The kids got to swim in the hotel pool that night before bed. The run was pretty early in the morning on Sunday, so I walked over from the hotel on my own. We ran around Arrowhead and Kauffman stadiums. Every Km, the racers would get colored chalk powder thrown at us. By the end, we were covered in color. It was pretty cool. The kids definitely want to do it with me the next time! On the way home that afternoon, we stopped in Lawrence for lunch at Jefferson's and then Makena and I had to introduce the boys to the Cupcake Construction Company, where we made our own cupcakes on our girls' weekend back in April. They liked it as much as we did! Another fun family getaway! (Sorry for no pics... working out kinks on the site... They are in the Facebook pics for July.)
