Race Anyone?

Yesterday, for the 2nd year in a row, Makena participated in the School Fitness Challenge, sponsored by the Manhattan Cross Country Club. Each school in the area is asked to participate, and the school with the most children signed up wins a cash prize for the school. Last year, Makena's school won the prize, so we're hoping that holds true this year as well. She ran 1/4 mile, along with other K-2 participants (older kids run 1/2 mile or 1 mile). Landon wanted to run too... so he and I held up the end of the pack as we ran behind all the actual participants. They both did a great job and were proud of themselves for running "such a long way!" And they were both very excited about the treats they got to eat/drink at the end!
