Field Day!

Makena's school had field day last week at Bishop Stadium near Cico Park here in Manhattan. It was a bit chilly first thing in the morning, but it got to be a very nice day by the end of the activities. Makena's group (1st-3rd grade) had their field day from 9:30-noon and the older kids had their activities in the afternoon. They had a 3-legged race, 50-yard dash, lap around the track, and tug of war among other things. Landon and I enjoyed sitting with other parents and siblings; and we were right behind Makena's class, so we were entertained by her classmates and teachers as well. Makena put forth a great effort and learned she could push herself hard and still have fun.
