Autism Meet Optimism Walk
The 1st ever Autism Walk in Manhattan was on Saturday. It was an amazing event! The kids and I were lucky enough to have my mother-in-law and niece Kara join us. We had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect! There were bounce houses and other games for the kids to play for FREE. We rode around on a train, and the kids participated in kids races. They had hair spraying and face painting. The kids won gift certificates to Chili's (which we used for lunch afterwards), candy and necklaces. Willie the Wildcat was there, and signed autographs along the walk route. We saw TONS of people we knew. It was very well-run... We will definitely have to try to participate again next year (and maybe the kids can walk the whole 3 miles instead of just 1). Oh- and ignore Landon's grumpy face in the pics... He had a blast- he was just hungry when I took the pics. :)
