Royals Baseball

On June 2, we drove to Kansas City to take in a Royals game. It was K-State Day at Kaufman Stadium, so it was exciting to see so much purple in the stands along with all the blue. Makena thought she might be torn as to which team to cheer for, as they were playing the Athletics (the name of her softball team this summer). But she recovered quickly, once she saw all her favorite players in the game. She's especially fond of Mike Moustakas (Moose Tacos, as she calls him), Alex Gordon and Billy Butler. With our ticket purchase, since it was Sunday Funday for families, we had unlimited use of the kids' activities in the outfield, as well as $10 per ticket to spend on food/drinks. It ended up being a pretty cheap trip in the end. We got to witness a win by the Royals, enjoy some wonderful weather as well as a great view, and have a little break from everyday life. Definitely worth the 4 hours in the car over the course of that day. :)
