On Friday night, Eric & I took the kids, along with my parents, and my sister & her boyfriend to the Purple Power Play on Poyntz- Manhattan's annual way of welcoming in the football season. The entire few blocks of downtown Manhattan are filled with games for the kids to play, and prizes to win. There were also inflatables, the fire hose (which they LOVE), etc. At the end, there's a pep rally with the marching band, and fireworks! What a fun way to spend the evening! Even though the kids were SO tired, they did great and had an amazing time with all our family and our wonderful friends, the Carson family. We even got to go up to Mike Carson's office next to the mall and watch the fireworks in the air conditioning! We are so spoiled! :) And the purple pride was EVERYWHERE! Makes us all very proud to be Wildcats!!!
Saturday, even though we didn't have tickets, Eric, the kids and I met my family at the stadium for some fun tailgating. We walked around and found lots of friends to hang out with. It was an exciting way to celebrate the first home game (and win!). We were there for about 4 hours, so the kids were hot and tired of walking, but seemed to love almost every minute of it! My mom bought the kids new outfits for the games- Makena now has a cheerleading uniform, and Landon got a striped polo and hat. I forgot to take pics until we got home- but at least I remembered before they took them off that night! :)
Now, we're all set for a great football season! GO KSU WILDCATS!!!!!
