Christmas Eve

Since we moved to Manhattan, our Christmas festivities have shifted in order to accommodate all the different parts of the family. So- we began doing our own little family Christmas on Christmas Eve, leaving Christmas morning just for Santa presents... then, it's off to Wichita. We let the kids exchange gifts in the afternoon. Then, after Mass (and after the kids had earned back the rest of their presents by behaving better than the previous couple of days), they opened the rest, including new basketballs to go with our new family basketball goal, and new calendars that I made for them. They were pretty happy with their gifts from us and each other. We finished off the night with cookies & milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer... and Twas the Night Before Christmas, read by Daddy. This was always a tradition in my family. I'm glad we've continued it with our kids.
