Manitou, Day 3

Our 3rd day on vacation was a very busy one! First thing in the morning, we headed to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo with my parents. It is the most beautiful zoo I have ever seen. It's built into the side of Cheyenne Mountain, and the views from the top were amazing. There were lots of opportunities to allow the kids to interact with the animals and be continually more entertained.

From the zoo, we took a picnic lunch to Garden of the Gods. After lunch, we climbed some of the rock structures and took some awesome pictures. The kids liked being up high and posing for the pics.

That evening, we took a flashlight tour of the Cave of the Winds. It was a cold, rainy night, which almost cancelled our trip. Then, upon our arrival, the tour guides said all tours for the night were full. But after some smooth talking on Eric's part, he convinced them to let us in, and we had a great time touring the cave. Eric & I had toured it 10 years ago, but seeing everything by flashlight was an even more exciting experience. Since the cave was so cold, my mom, Eric & I purchased some long sleeved shirts to help keep us warmer.

Overall- amazing 3rd day!!!
